Communication Between Parents and Teachers
The basis for my decision to make this my action research project was based on observations at my campus as well as informal interviews with teachers, administrators, and parents.  I would say that a vision for my research would be "a campus that fosters lifelong learners in collaboration with families and community."  One of the many things I've found on the internet that had valuable information related to my action research came from theparentacademy.dadeschools.net/pdfs/Effective_Communication.pdf  which included a lot of great information on the importance of parental involvement.  The decision for this to be my action research was made in a meeting over the summer with our new campus principal and an education consultant that happened to be on campus that day.  I've shared with them and some of my colleagues some of the information I've located on the internet about this subject.  My action research is still very much a work in process that I will be doing a lot of work on toward the end of this semester and this summer in preparation for the new school year.
